power & external storage

Postby frewi » Fri Apr 11, 2014 2:14 pm

Hi all,
I have two more questions:
1. Is it possible to run the DipCortex as stand alone without connection to my computer just with USB powerbank? (I think so, but how?)
2. Is it possible to use an USB-y-cable on the on hand to connect an USB powerbank as power supply and on the other hand to connect a external storage to write
data via USB serial port.

Thanks
frewi

Yes you can run it standalone, the USB CDC serial port is only there to help debug.

External USB storage isn't possible though, the USB on the dipcortex is device only so can not act as a host.

The DipCortex's main processor has an eeprom that can store 4kb of data, or you coyld attach you own storage via SPI, I2C or interface to an SD Card perhaps.
